Clement Meadmore has explored variations of elongated, squared metal tubes in a majority of his work. He often used one piece of hollow metal, twisting and turning to create his gravity defying shapes, of which 'Offshoot' is a prime example. An illusion of lightness is created as the dark horizontal piece balances effortlessly in spite of its weight and length of twenty-four feet. Clement Meadmore was also a pioneer in the use of Cor-Ten steel.
