'Data and Dust #4' was first exhibited at Grounds For Sculpture for the Fall/Winter 1996/97 Exhibition and is now part of the collection. This artist’s interest in ancient cultures inspires him to manipulate stone and metal into works that recall artifacts excavated from archeological sites. The shapes of vessels recovered from early civilizations often determine the proportions and character of works by Porcaro, as with 'Data and Dust #4'. Yet, Porcaro's sculptures are brought up to date with the inclusion of contemporary materials and artistic concerns, forming a connecting thread between the past and the present.
